Global Dynamix Solutions GB PLC: GLOBAL DYNAMIX SUBSIDIARY CLEAN LIGHT GREEN LIGHT ANOUNCES ESTIMATED $18M USD PILOT WITH MAJOR U.S. FOOD CHAIN
Global Dynamix Solutions GB PLC / Key word(s): Miscellaneous 01.12.2010 08:30 --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Global Dynamix Solutions GB PLC (DE:G6L)-- wholly owned U.S. subsidiary Clean Light Green Light (CLGL), announces the launch of an LED lighting retrofit pilot with one of the largest retail food chains in the United States. Phase one of the pilot will be implemented in thirteen Southern California locations with 100 Texas locations slated for the second phase in mid 2011. To date, this is potentially the largest LED lighting retrofit initiative in the U.S. retail food sector. The estimated $18M USD project represents another industry first for the Michigan-based LED lighting manufacturer which offers the largest catalog of commercial, industrial and municipal retrofit LED lighting products globally. Lighting accounts for between 37-50% of a commercial building's electrical energy use representing around 51% of the global lighting electricity demand. According to the International Energy Agency (IEA) this demand will increase 80% by 2030 compounded by dramatically escalating energy rates. LED lights use between 40%-80% less energy than traditional incandescent and fluorescent bulbs, and also significantly reduce maintenance costs over their unparalleled 50,000+ hour life times (25-35+ years depending on use) so they offer a viable way to improve a business's bottom line while simultaneously addressing the global quest for sustainability. The supermarket industry has recently embraced LED technology with research showing its implementation can reduce energy consumption by as much as 60 percent. With prevailing corporate strategies to increase profitability as well as achieve long term growth primarily focused on improvement of operational efficiency it is no surprise that major food chains are moving forward with implementation of LED technology to address their fiscal efficiency goals. Leveraging various public funds available is also a motivating factor for commercial retail operations as mentioned in a very recent report by Pike Research titled 'Energy Efficient Lighting for Commercial Markets'. It is reported that in the near term the lighting retrofit market is getting a huge boost from the financial incentives such as tax credits and stimulus funds available from government and other programs. 'This pilot exemplifies a growing movement in all commercial retail sectors recognizing the cost effective long-term value that LED lighting provides' shares Chuck Bennett, CLGL Director of Sales for North America. 'In addressing the escalating number of inquiries and resulting pilots we are executing, we are finding that companies are doing their research and recognizing the incomparable options and value that CLGL offers. As the market leader the potential for us is immense.' he adds.
