PRESS RELEASE
Munich, 18 August 2022 – Golding Capital Partners, one of Europe’s leading independent asset managers for alternative investments, announces the first closing of its fund ”Golding Buyout 2021” at €155 million. The successful track record of its three predecessor funds and its compelling investment strategy for the current market convinced both existing investors and new clients. The fund will construct a selected portfolio of primary funds in Europe and the USA, with a focus on small and medium-sized companies in Europe and the USA operating in the sectors technology, healthcare and B2B services. The portfolio will be balanced by opportunistic secondary and co-investments to further optimise its performance. The fund’s target volume is €400 million, with a final closing planned for the end of 2023. “It has been shown in the past that private equity provides an opportunity for excess returns, precisely in a difficult market environment. With our strategy we are not only offering investors access to the established buyout markets of North America and Europe. The planned portfolio diversification and construction strategy also gives them the opportunity to build and develop risk-adjusted, high-performance portfolios with the most successful fund managers. In the current market this is vital and forms the basis for safeguarding future returns”, says Dr Matthias Reicherter, Chief Investment Officer and Managing Partner at Golding. “We have been opening up these markets to investors with great success since the year 2000 and are delighted to welcome to our flagship fund both those investors who are joining us for the first time, and our existing LPs”, explains Hubertus Theile-Ochel, Managing Partner at Golding. “The renowned Golding platform and the wide-ranging networks of our team specialists give us access to the most attractive deals and partners in the small and medium-sized market segment – whether they are primary funds, secondary transactions or selected co-investments. Our focus remains on growth companies in the target sectors of technology, healthcare and B2B services, where we partner with fund managers who actively support the growth of our portfolio companies. The capabilities that our partners have acquired in recent years are a key driver of that growth, particularly in the area of digitisation”, says Daniel Boege, Partner and Head of Buyout at Golding. When it is fully committed, the fund ”Golding Buyout 2021” will, like its successful predecessors, have a broadly diversified portfolio of more than 300 individual investments that promise attractive return opportunities and spread risks. The fund is structured as a Luxembourg SCS SICAV-FIAR and is open to institutional investors making a minimum commitment of €5 million.
