HÖRMANN Industries accelerates growth course
Kirchseeon, 24 May 2022 – HÖRMANN Industries GmbH (corporate bond, WKN: A2TSCH) has decided to pool its various business activities in the logistics, conveyor technology, automation technology, assembly and services segments in a new division named “Intralogistics”. HÖRMANN Industries is thus responding to the sharp rise in market demand for sophisticated system solutions for intralogistics, for automation solutions for production, warehouse and distribution logistics and for services in this area. The aim of this strategic restructuring is to generate dynamic profitable growth in this lucrative market segment and hence to further accelerate HÖRMANN Industries’ growth in non-automotive sectors. HÖRMANN Industries can rely on the core competencies developed over many decades and the experience proven in many reference plants as a general contractor for the implementation of turnkey material flow solutions and as a product supplier for conveyor technology. The new Intralogistics division unites HÖRMANN Logistik GmbH, Klatt Fördertechnik GmbH, HÖRMANN Logistik Polska Sp. z o.o. and HÖRMANN Logistik Systeme GmbH under the umbrella of the intermediate holding company HÖRMANN Intralogistik GmbH. In addition, the subsidiaries of the former Services division, HÖRMANN Industrieservice GmbH, HÖRMANN Automationsservice GmbH and MAT Maschinentechnik GmbH, will be integrated into the Intralogistics division. Going forward, the HÖRMANN Group will hence comprise the four divisions Automotive, Communication, Engineering and Intralogistics. “The new Intralogistics division forms the fourth profitable pillar of the HÖRMANN Group in addition to Automotive, Communication and Engineering,” says Dr. Michael Radke, CEO of HÖRMANN Industries GmbH. “With this important step, we are accelerating our growth course, which was hampered by the two years of crisis, and, in accordance with our motto ‘750 and more’, we are targeting our goal of sales of EUR 750 million and an EBIT margin of around 5% in the financial year 2025. By setting new strategic priorities in the non-automotive sector, we are actively and proactively shaping the future of our already diversified group of companies in a currently very dynamic environment to strengthen the HÖRMANN Group sustainably.” Johann Schmid-Davis, CFO of HÖRMANN Industries GmbH, adds: “By integrating the competencies of the Services division, which has been loss-making in recent years, we are also combining the strategic reorientation of our service activities to applications outside of the automotive sector with a new focus on the intralogistics sector, as we no longer expect a short-term recovery of the demand for industrial services in the structurally strongly changing car production sector. In the intralogistics sector, we can exploit valuable synergies, win new customers and generate new earnings potential by actively marketing our services.” In order to shape and focus the growth-oriented development of the Intralogistics division, the management board of HÖRMANN Industries will be expanded with industry insider Dr. Christian Baur as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) with effect from 1 July 2022. Dr. Baur studied mechanical engineering, held various management positions for many years and most recently led the successful provider of automated logistics solutions Swisslog as CEO. “We are very pleased to have succeeded in winning Dr. Baur for the HÖRMANN Group. He is a highly competent and internationally experienced manager from the field of intralogistics who will bring his experience from the successful implementation of ambitious growth strategies to the HÖRMANN Group,” says Dr. Andreas Albath, Chairman of the Advisory Board of the HÖRMANN Group. In the management team consisting of three members, Dr. Baur will be responsible for the strategic development of the Intralogistics division and hence also for the integration and restructuring of the Services division. As CFO, Johann Schmid-Davis will remain in charge of the Group functions Finance and Accounting, Controlling, Information Technology, Legal and Compliance, Tax and M&A. Dr. Michael Radke, CEO and Chairman of the management, will continue to lead the Automotive, Engineering and Communication divisions and will be responsible for the Group functions Corporate Strategy and Development, Corporate Communications and Human Resources. “I am very pleased to be given the opportunity to strengthen the management of HÖRMANN Industries and make an important contribution to the dynamic shaping of the successful future of the HÖRMANN Group,” says Dr. Christian Baur enthusiastically. “The markets in both Europe and, for example, America offer above-average growth potential for our solutions, which I would like to tap together with the existing, very experienced team.” Dr. Michael Radke and Johann Schmid-Davis state in unison: “We warmly welcome our new colleague and look forward to a trusting and professional cooperation in which different experiences complement each other well for the benefit of the HÖRMANN Group.” Contact: About the HÖRMANN Group
