The original plan for IBMC was to expand in second tier cities such as Wuxi, Suzhou, and Chong Qing. After receiving overwhelming demand by several franchisee applicants, IBMC finally agrees to allow franchisees to open Shanghai locations. Frank Yuan, CEO of IBMC China stated 'Shanghai is the commercial capital city of China. Those locations the franchisee found are second to none, and will make our brand much more popular in China.' Yuan added 'Once the Shanghai stores open, it will make our China second tier cities expansion plan much faster and easier.' Ms. Peng, franchisee for Can Can brand, exclaimed with excitement 'Can Can brand will do extremely well in Shanghai, our first day opening had over 2,000 RMB in sales.'
