klickTel AG presents nine-months figures

The issuer / publisher is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- klickTel AG presents nine-months figures - Favourable trend in sales and earnings - Nine-months sales increase by 3.7% to 15.8 million euros - Anticipated earnings figures for 2007 well up on previous year Essen, November 12, 2007 – klickTel AG, one of Germany’s leading providers of intermedia white and yellow pages, is still on track with its operating figures after nine months of the current financial year. Indeed, the company has managed to offset the lack of sales in the navigation sector with growth in other business segments, most notably in the Advertising sales business area. Overall klickTel has generated sales of 15.8 million euros over the nine months, up from 15.3 million euros in the previous year, thus achieving a 3.7% increase in sales. Boris Polenske, CEO of klickTel AG, commented: 'The financial year is still shaping up as expected. We are working on the assumption that we will meet our targets, with sales remaining stable and on a par with the previous year. As we hoped, the trend in extension sales for infoEintrag has been particularly good.' In the first three quarters sales in the Advertising sales division rose by 26.3% from 7.3 million euros to 9.2 million euros. The Software division recorded sales of 6.6 million euros compared to 8.0 million euros in the first nine months of 2006. This year’s figure takes account of the loss of 1.8 million euros worth of sales in the navigation business from the third quarter of the previous year. The other main product ranges in the Software business area generated higher volumes of sales. Significant improvement in profitability There is significant advance in terms of profitability in business development although one-off costs will be incurred in 2007 for the last time in connection with the navigation operations. The Advertising sales division has also been earmarked for capital investment – e. g. to set up new sales offices and expand the external advertising campaign. Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) in the first nine months of 2007 totalled -1.3 million euros, an improvement on last year’s figure of -2.4 million euros. The EBIT was -2.0 million euros as opposed to -2.8 million euros in 2006. The deficit was virtually halved from euros -4.0 million euros to -2.1 million euros after the first three quarters of 2007. Boris Polenske: 'Our earnings figures are still shaping up well, allowing us to make moderate investments in advertising sales and still be in a much better position overall than in 2006. This is also backed up by our operating cash flow. After nine months in the previous year this still totalled -6.8 million euros and is now almost at break-even at -0.4 million euros. All in all, as we look ahead to 2008, we have created a very strong basis from which to expand the advertising sales further whilst regaining profitability in our operations.'
