Zurich, 22nd January 2013 - Mountain Cleantech Fund II (MCF II) has
completed an investment in Gruenspar GmbH, the German market leader in the
distribution of resource- and energy-efficient products to retail and
commercial customers.

The firm, which is headquartered in Muenster, Germany, was founded in 2010
by serial entrepreneur Sebastian Kotzwander. The business model follows a
two-pronged approach. On one hand, Gruenspar offers consumers via its
dedicated online shop close to 1,000 energy and resource saving products.
The firm further provides Software as a Service (SaaS) to utility companies
by offering modular White Label Shop solutions for the sale of energy
efficiency products.

In the SaaS business area, Gruenspar has now established commercial
relationships with more than 50 utility customers in Germany and Austria.
Gruenspar's modular solutions enable utilities to offer their retail
consumers innovative ways of saving electricity-, heating- and water usage
costs in a market environment of rapidly increasing utility prices.
Gruenspar solutions also function as an effective customer acquisition and
retention tool in the fragmented German energy supplier market. For many
utilities Gruenspar has become the exclusive competence partner for energy
efficiency business initiatives.

Mountain Cleantech's Managing Partner Alexander von Hutten has joined
Gruenspar's Supervisory Board to support the company's strong growth
