The best just gets better – the next generation of surface and web inspection
Announcing espresso SI
Next generation of Parsytec’s espresso surface and web inspection product
features fast-track commissioning and WWW operation
Aachen/Germany – 19 January 2006. Parsytec AG – the world’s leading supplier
of surface and web inspection systems for strip products – announces espresso
SI, the next generation of surface and web inspection. The new product will be
publicly launched at the ISIS 2006 in Luxembourg on 21 February 2006. A sneak
preview is available on the industry’s first inspection portal at www.simply-
inspection.com. Many new built-in features make espresso SI the world’s
fastest and best usable inspection product. Beyond every inspection task at
single production lines, it is also ready to build system by system a company-
wide inspection infrastructure.
espresso SI software innovations
espresso SI is the worldwide first inspection system to give access to all
inspection results from everywhere with a standard internet browser. This
accelerates the access to the valuable surface quality information and will
enable Parsytec customers to further speed-up important decision making
processes. Furthermore, Parsytec customers will benefit from an unprecedented
degree of system pre-settings and commissioning wizards, making the inspection
system ready for a “plug & play” usage approach.
espresso SI hardware innovations
As only supplier, Parsytec provides the entire portfolio: sensors with diffuse
and directed light illumination and both matrix and line scan cameras.
Arranged as brightfield, darkfield and “bright darkfield”. This completeness
of Parsytec’s product portfolio guarantees that their customers always get the
best suitable solution for their individual application. Even more: espresso
SI is the worldwide first system to apply GBit Ethernet camera technology. The
customer benefit is obvious: based on this, Parsytec will double the maximum
inspection speed and is prepared for their customers’ ongoing plant
optimization efforts.
espresso SI service innovations
Parsytec follows the approach to further enrich its surface inspection value
proposition with production decision intelligence (pdi) solutions. This is
also reflected by a high number of unique pdi offerings for both metals and
paper producers. They vary from defect marking over automatic coil grading to
calender protection and online width and formation measurement.
espresso SI application innovations
With the next generation surface inspection, Parsytec now also offers
inspection solutions for so far nearly untapped applications. As first vendor
worldwide, Parsytec provides its customers with a surface inspection system
targeted at and specially designed for tandem lines. Besides that, Parsytec
also developed a dirt counter for the pulp market – based on its superior
inspection technology.
The public launch of the new product can be witnessed at the ISIS 2006 in
Luxembourg on 21 February 2006. Already today, a sneak preview is available on
the industry’s first Inspection portal at www.simply-inspection.com.
Parsytec AG is the world’s largest vendor of surface inspection systems:
Today, 10 of the Top 10 steel producers and 15 of the Top 20 paper producers
apply Parsytec products. With more than 350 installations worldwide, espresso
by Parsytec is the most advanced surface inspection system providing Parsytec
customers with reliable and comprehensive information about the relevant
surface defects at all production steps. The innovative software platform
parsytec 5i enables customers to easily create individual surface quality
yield management applications and integrates surface quality data with process
data. Parsytec is headquartered in Aachen, Germany, and maintains
subsidiaries in North America, Japan, Korea and China.
