ROK Global PLC, the mobile, web and industrial technology, applications and services company, has announced the launch of Team M.O.B.I.L.E. – another of its highly innovative and fully-interactive comics range created for use on iPads, iPhones and Android devices.
Commenting, Jonathan Kendrick, Chairman of ROK said 'ROK is pioneering the development and delivery of original interactive digital comics with a range of new titles designed to bring comic books to life in a highly dynamic manner via the latest technologies whereby people don't just read comics, they can listen to them and interact with the story on several levels on their Android smartphones, iPhones and iPads – and even to the extend they can actually purchase merchandise relating to the title and characters while enjoying the story.'
Delivering full colour action comics with swipe to read navigation, a 'click-to-listen' full audio soundtrack with Pop-Up extras profiling key characters and equipment featured, plus animated sequences and background features, ROK Comics has a mandate to 'bring comics to life' to a whole new audience globally via the most ubiquitous of devices, the iPhone, iPad and Android smartphones.
In addition, ROK is pioneering other revenue-generating innovations with its interactive digital comics. Houdini, for example, who solves crimes using illusion and magic, offers the reader the chance to buy a selection of the illusion and magic trick kits, as used by Houdini in the stories, from inside the comic itself.
ROK's Houdini comic is available free of charge for iPad and iPhone at http://itunes.apple.com/app/houdini/id531385730?mt=8&ls=1 and for Android at https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rok.comics.houdini while Team M.O.B.I.L.E. is available free of charge for Android devices at https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rok.comics.teammobile02 and for iPhones and iPads on http://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/team-mobile-2/id549502691?mt=8
'The reaction to our interactive comics amongst existing comic fans has been fantastic and we are busy expanding our titles, adding new comics on a monthly basis, with the impending launch of a whole range of music video comics to follow. All our ROK Comics are not only designed for mass-market appeal globally, but given the text-to-speech element they contain, they are also great for the huge numbers of comic fans worldwide who are learning English as a second language.' Added Kendrick.
Amongst the interactive Music Video comics currently in development are 'The Beatles Story', an eight-issue digital series which will include rare and as-yet unseen video of The Beatles in concert and 'The Elvis Story', another eight-issue digital series revealing the legend of The King.
ROK Global PLC was co-founded by US Billionaire John Paul DeJoria and UK-based entrepreneur, Jonathan Kendrick.
In addition to being the co-founder of ROK, John Paul DeJoria is Chairman and CEO of John Paul Mitchell Systems, the producer and manufacturer of Paul Mitchell hair care products and is also co-founder of Patron Tequila, the world's leading premium tequila brand.
ROK has pioneered many new technologies in the rapidly evolving mobile, web and industrial technologies space in addition to high quality mass-market Mobile TV, to include mobile security technologies which it licenses to law enforcement agencies and multi-language text-to-speech technologies as well as 'JP Selects' e-commerce portal for eco-friendly and sustainable brands and products.
