Testing and Quality Assurance Specialist Appointed as an Approved Supplier
Through the G-Cloud Framework, Which Enables the Rapid Sourcing and Deployment
of Secure, Low Cost Services to the UK Public Sector 

LONDON, 2012-11-28 10:30 CET (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Sogeti UK, a leading provider
of professional technology services specialising in software testing,
application management, infrastructure management and high-tech engineering,
has been awarded a framework contract for Lot4: Specialist Cloud Services, to
become an approved supplier to the UK Government as part of the new G-Cloud
initiative. 

Sogeti's software testing and Quality Assurance services will be much more
accessible as they are now available for purchase through the HM Government
G-Cloud CloudStore, a searchable database that enables government agencies and
buyers to match their ICT requirements with the best-fit technologies and
service providers. 

The G-Cloud is a cross-government initiative led by Andy Nelson, Ministry of
Justice, and supported by the Home Office G-Cloud programme director Denise
McDonagh under the direction of the Chief Information Officer Delivery Board.
The scheme is designed to create a fundamental change in the way in which the
public sector procures and operates its ICT and it is predicted to deliver
around £1.4 billion in savings over the next four years, while supporting the
digital delivery of improved public services. 

The CloudStore will contain more than 1,700 technology services split into four
areas - Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS),
Software as Service (SaaS) and Other Services. Sogeti's services will be listed
under Specialist Cloud Services and will include services such as test process
assessments and improvement plans (TPI), accelerated automated functional
testing, test assurance, training, managed testing, and transformation
services. Access and uptake of these services will enable government
organisations to speed up the delivery of high quality, reliable IT
applications and services and help them to maximise their responsiveness to
government policies and strategies. Sogeti's TPI Assessment is the first step
towards an independent assessment to benchmark an organisation's testing
capabilities against best practice and industry standards.
