(OTCBB:TCPS), announced today that its Chinese subsidiary, Jinshilin Techno Ltd., continues to expand its set-top box business in mainland China, with a new purchase order for 10,000 set-top boxes from Shanghai Longlin Communication Technology Co. Ltd. These set-top boxes will be used in Beijing by Longlin as a last-mile solution for merchants who swipe credit cards for online processing of sales transactions. 'We view the sale to Longlin as a confirmation of growing market opportunities for set-top boxes in China,' said Antonio Turgeon, Chairman and CEO of TechnoConcepts. 'This is a completely separate contract and different use of set-top boxes from our recently announced sale to Shanghai Forest Electronics Technology, where we are selling set-top boxes that integrate Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) and Voice Over IP (VOIP) phone services.' Turgeon noted that this 10,000 set-top box order is scheduled for delivery before May 31, 2008. Turgeon added that the bill of materials and the price of these new set-top boxes are significantly less than the standard Jinshilin box. According to Turgeon, the market in China for lower cost set-top boxes is even larger than the market for standard set-top boxes. About TechnoConcepts TechnoConcepts designs, develops and markets semiconductors for wireless communications. The company has developed and patented True Software Radio®, a proprietary technology that creates convergence for the wireless industry. True Software Radio® chipsets are designed to enable cell phones, PDAs, laptops, and other mobile devices with different radio frequencies, standards, and protocols to adjust by software command so that they can communicate directly with each other, across otherwise incompatible networks, without the need for multiple radios. True Software Radio® chipsets replace the front end, I/F processing, ADC, and digital filtering sections of digital radios. Because the technology simplifies design and reduces component costs, the Company believes that True Software Radio® is an ideal platform for Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and Original Design Manufacturers (ODMs) to develop new wireless broadband, mobile data, cellular, and other next-generation wireless applications.
