Geographically, CAR is a landlock country and known for its mineral wealth. The Bakouma region with its huge mineral wealth has remained unexploited and offers an extensive mining potential. The total licence area of Uranio-Xenon consists of 4 blocks and covers an area of 200,000 hectares (= 2.000 qkm). The target is here the potential for uranium mineralization. The Uranio-Xenon licence area is surrounding block no. 1 + 2, which are owned by the French uranium producer Areva (Areva – UraMin), and is reported to have similar geology as blocks 1 + 2. So far, Areva – UraMin has reported 5.7 million tonnes of ore at a grade of 2,000 ppm U3O8 over an area of 850 m by 250 m. This is only one of many targets on their licence area. The Areva-UraMin licence area covers just one-third of the prospective fold belt. The remaining two-thirds are covered by the Uranio-Xenon licences, which extend to the north and east of the Areva-UraMin licence. The anomalies, which have been discovered on the Uranio – Xenon licences, are much larger than that of the adjecent Areva – UraMin licence, where Areva- UraMin has proved so far reserves of 23,000 tons of U3O8, with acurrent market value of US$ 30 billions. As the Uranio-Xenon licences are on strike to those of Areva-UraMin, the potential of having the same or even much higher reserves, is highly probable.
