The result is quite positive. Different areas totaling 23,155.9 hectares of the total original area of 42,535 hectares has been identified to contain significant uranium showings. Uranio decided to drop the remaining area in order to concentrate its further exploration work on the delineated areas. This has been done in accordance with the rules of the La Rioja Department of Mines. Figure 1 Location of Uranio’s properties in La Rioja and San Luis Province, northern Argentina. Concessions covering the Guandacol Matias concessions(red star labeled 'MAT', for Matias) are in the Province of La Rioja, and are detailed in Figure 2 and Table 1. GUANDACOL MATIAS CONCESSIONS CURRENTLY TOTAL 23,156 HECTARES Uranio’s four reduced concessions in the Guandacol Matias group of concessions are detailed in Table 1 and Figure 2. The label 'A' indicates that the concessions have been reduced in size. In addition, the Matias 5 concession of 2,600 hectares was dropped. Uranio now holds in the Guandacol Matias area 23,155.9 hectares—reduced from an original 42,535 hectares. All ground considered to be highly prospective for uranium has been retained. TABLE 1. The Guandacol Matias 1A to 4A concessions are in the Guandacol District, Province of La Rioja in northern Argentina. A variety of uranium deposit types occur, including humic (replacement of logs and plant trash), and evaporate-sabkha concentrations (associated with copper). Background is a satellite image. Coordinates are Gauss Kruger (WGS84). EXPLORATION ON THE GUANDACOL MATIAS CONCESSIONS Regional exploration and prospecting of the Guandacol Matias concessions in La Rioja has identified a variety of uranium deposit types that are widespread over the area. Uranio showing types include humic with uranium replacement of logs and plant trash, and evaporate-related or sabkha concentrations with associated copper. The potential of the evaporate-sabkha uranium-copper prospects is particularly interesting. Detailed follow-up of these occurrences is warranted. CONCLUSIONS Detailed uranium exploration on the Guandacol Matias concessions in La Rioja, Argentina is scheduled to start in April 2009, after the rainy season of mid-December to March. Areas surrounding known showings will be carefully evaluated at that time. Emphasis will be on follow-up of the evaporate-sabkha uranium-copper occurrences.
