XL Launches a new wave in Soccer Play and Training method
Zug (Switzerland), Friday May 12, 2006 – XL Generation International Inc.
(OTCBB: XLGI), a leading provider of artificial turf products and other
leisure and sports surfaces, announced today that on Sunday, May 7 2006, at
the Los Angeles Tennis Center the SOCCER-TENNIS U.S. Invitational, was held
and sponsored by XL Generation.
Some of the best soccer players in the world were competing against each
other in a way that has never been seen before. Soccer-Tennis is a game
that every young kid, who dreams of being a soccer star one day, should and
will want to play. Comments from all sources, professional players and
other participants were unanimous, that this new game is by far the best
training exercise to develop soccer technique. Soccer-Tennis is played on
a surface equal to the double player part of a tennis court.
During this tournament, 8 teams representing; Argentina, Brazil, Canada, El
Salvador, Germany, Iran, Mexico and the United States, played three against
three, on a specially prepared XL Turf regulation Soccer-tennis court. The
court supplied by XL Generation was 78 feet long and 36 feet wide. The
playing surface was marked with brightly-colored lines. After the event,
the surface was immediately sold to Gold’s Gym in New Jersey.
Throughout this one day event, people enjoyed world class players like Karl
Heinz Riedle, Aldair, Olarticochea, Eric Wynalda, Mauricio Cienfuegos, Luis
Hernandez and Ahmad Abedzadeh – all world Cup players.
‘The XLTurf is fantastic!!” said founder and CEO of American Soccer Tennis
Thomas Dooley, a former US International player, who played in two world
cups. He went on to say ‘All the players enjoyed the tournament and the
fact that we were able to have XLTurf as a sponsor made all the difference.
XLG is the perfect partner and we look forward to working with them in the
future. We needed a top of the line playing field for our world class
participants and XLG delivered, on every level’.
David Abroms, tournament director said: ‘The whole XLG product was first
class. The delivery, the installation and most important the performance of
the turf was truly amazing. The players loved it, you could just tell’.
Eric Wynalda, US Pro all time scoring leader said: ‘As a player I hated
turf, XLG is just different, it is better on the body. I must have gone for
ten bicycle kicks today and it was always a soft landing, the technology is
really something else. No other company could have done what XLG did today
without making a mess that would have been impossible to clean up!’
