aligna AG / Environment 16.07.2010 16:38 Dissemination of a Press Release, transmitted by DGAP - a company of EquityStory AG. The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- AquaTriComb(TM) Ballast Water Treatment System of Aquaworx received Patent - Securing technology and future incomes Munich. The Technology of the AquaTriComb(TM) Ballast Wasser System of Aquaworx has been granted protection by patent. The patent for the Aquaworx Ballast Water Treatment system secures the technology within a competitive global market. Beside the current ongoing IMO certification process this is an important and supporting milestone towards the scheduled market entry in 2011. The patent proofs and underlines the leading position of the environment-friendly system which is designed for easy handling under conditions of maritime practice. Based on the agreement with Aalborg Industries A/S, DK, the partner for the founded Joint Venture, the patent increases the payments for royalties based on the turnover of Aalborg Ind. Water Treatment Pte, Singapore, the Joint Venture Company. The Business plan of Aalborg Ind. Water Treatment Pte, Singapore predicts a total amount of about EUR 150 million for sales related royalties and dividends out of a 40% share in the Joint Venture towards Aquaworx until 2020. The Ballast Water Treatment System from Aquaworx successfully completed the Land Based Test. The team, experts from Aquaworx and Aalborg Ind. Water Treatment Pte, Singapore, the Joint Venture partner from Aquaworx, carried out the official land based tests at NIOZ (Royal National Institute for Sea Research, Texel, NL). The official NIOZ report will be published. After having received the Basic Approval already last summer the land based testing is the next important milestone towards the market implementation. The equipment has passed quite intensive test runs under extremely challenging conditions with outstanding good results. The system operates waste free and without using or generating any chemicals, like a real 'Green Technology' maritime product. For further information please follow greentech@aalborg-industries.com. Ship owners already evidence intensive interest because of the small footprint which makes the AquaTriComb(TM) system very suitable for retro fittings, the biggest market for this product. This has been proven right away during the installation on board the MS Timbus in April as well. The modular equipment elements, designed for vertical and horizontal installations, even apart from each other, suited perfectly into the required and left space on board. During the next month the team will carry out on board Sea Based Tests, operated by official experts and laboratories, to complete our route to the market by getting the Type Approval by the end of the year. The AquaTriComb(TM) system will be presented to the market during the most important maritime exhibition SMM 07-10 September 2010 in Hamburg, Germany. 16.07.2010 Ad hoc announcement, Financial News and Press Release distributed by DGAP.
