Just Software AG launches fully integrated apps for optimum collaboration
PRESS RELEASE Just Software AG launches fully integrated apps for optimum collaboration – JUST SOCIAL is a concept offering fully integrated apps for a new vision of better collaboration within the companies – Communication and collaboration in a single cost-effective package solution – The data protection is a key priority – The start-up is competing against Microsoft, Facebook & Co.
At present, companies generally use numerous stand-alone solutions, and employees often find this overwhelming: alongside their e-mail and calendar, they have to familiarise themselves with different programs for document exchange, social networking, chat communication and project management. The result: frustration in the workplace. “No employee wants to have to learn half a dozen tools and search for their documents in umpteen different places. Moreover, running various diverse programs involves high costs for the company,” explains Dr Thomas Kreye, CEO and co-founder of the start-up. Kreye is talking from experience. The company has successfully introduced to the market its own social intranet solution, and is working for more than 100 reputable customers of varying sizes and from a range of industries. Customers include AOK, Volksbank, the Ramada Hotel Group and the HHL Leipzig Graduate School of Management. With JUST SOCIAL, the company aims to combine all the apps for communication and collaboration into a single cost-effective package solution: “Each app will be very simple to use. At the same time, we will optimally coordinate and integrate all the apps with one another. Users only have to log in once, benefit from a standardised operation and find everything they need with just one click – irrespective of which app they happen to be using,” explains Susanne Kaiser, who, as one of a small number of female technology directors in Germany, is responsible for the development of JUST SOCIAL. The Hamburg-based team is competing head-to-head with traditional software companies such as Microsoft which, however, often expand their range of apps by buying up other companies, instead of developing them organically themselves and coordinating them with one another. In addition, Facebook is also currently working on a corporate version, although this will continue to focus only on social networking. Unlike, for example, Facebook, Just Software AG does not use its customer data for its own purposes, such as marketing activities and advertising. “Alongside its innovative concept of fully integrated apps, compared with American providers, JUST SOCIAL benefits from one key advantage – data protection. The explosive nature of this topic has become known to everyone since the NSA scandal,” points out Professor Dr. Mark-Ken Erdmann (Supervisory Board of Just Software AG), who is the full-time CFO of the Rickmers Group and, prior to that, worked for Bertelsmann for just under ten years, where he finally served as CIO of the Corporate Center. All software applications of the German company are subject to the high requirements on data protection stipulated in German law. This applies both for the cloud solution as well as for the installable version of JUST SOCIAL, where company customers run the software themselves and can save their data on their own computers. “For many of our customers, this is already a very important condition. And I am sure that, following on from the recent judgement of the European Court of Justice regarding the Safe Harbour Agreement, it will continue to gain in importance in the future,” states Rolf Schmidt-Holtz, who closely monitors the company as Chairman of the Supervisory Board. He actively supports the young team with his international experience, which he has acquired, for example, as Chairman of the Board at Bertelsmann and most recently as boss of Sony Music in New York. According to independent studies, the global market for apps for collaboration in companies currently amounts to 38.6 billion US dollars, and is set to increase by eight percent each year up to 2019.* * MarketsandMarkets – ENTERPRISE COLLABORATION MARKET – Global Advancements, Worldwide Forecasts & Analysis (2014-2019) About Just Software AG: Contact for queries: Andreas Friedemann End of Media Release Issuer: Just Software AG Key word(s): Information technology 2015-10-20 Dissemination of a Press Release, transmitted by DGAP – a service of EQS Group AG.
