TOM TAILOR Group pools Wholesale and Retail sales units in Germany under single management
Hamburg, 11 December 2019. The TOM TAILOR Group is laying the initial groundwork for the future by pooling its Wholesale and Retail units under one management. The aim is to implement consistent communications throughout all channels and to focus on the consumer in the positioning of the TOM TAILOR brand in Germany, the company’s main core market.
“We are pooling our Wholesale and Retail sales units so that we can further strengthen our TOM TAILOR brand, make our customers the central focus of our activities and develop holistic approaches to the ever faster changing competitive environment”, says Gernot Lenz, who took over as CEO of the TOM TAILOR Group on 1 November 2019.
The position of Country Manager Germany, which has been created to manage the new pooled unit will be filled as of 1 January 2020 by Thomas Bretscher, who has been with the company since 2014 and is currently Vice President Wholesale. “We are very happy to have Thomas Bretscher, an experienced sales expert, carrying out this task with us. The retail business in Germany is strategically important for us and we are sure that Thomas will set it up well for future success,” says Lenz. Andreas Kaczmarczyk, Vice President Retail at the TOM TAILOR Group since 2018, will hand over his responsibilities to Thomas Bretscher and will leave the company at the end of the year to pursue a new challenge. Gernot Lenz continues, “We would like to thank Andreas Kaczmarczyk for his work and commitment over the past two years and wish him all the best for his future career and private life.”
In addition, Thalke Onken took over the position of Director Wholesale Germany on 1 November 2019. This function was previously carried out by Thomas Bretscher in an interim capacity. Thalke Onken has been with the TOM TAILOR Group since November 2009 in a number of posiitons, most recently as Head of Wholesale Online & Marketplaces.
The TOM TAILOR Group steers its sales activities in the areas of wholesale and retail via local Country Managers in all international core markets. The company’s largest sales market, Germany, is now following this logic by implementing this measure.
